Rashmi Bansal writer and speaker

Recently I met a well known personality. He had many achievements in his long career. Earned wealth as well as fame. He is counted among the big industrialists of the country. Now he has retired, so he wants to write his autobiography. Wanted to meet me in this connection.

I stepped inside the spacious boardroom of the plush bungalow, greeted him. For the next half an hour he went on talking about himself in an exaggerated manner. First of all, how many big ministers he gets up and sits with, including the Prime Minister. And now, since he does not go to office everyday, he spends so much time in charity work.

A thought came to my mind, doing charity work is good, but is it necessary to tell everyone? If you are helping someone with a true heart, then that should be enough. Well, there are all kinds of people in this world. Who am I to judge them. Somebody is getting good.

Then it came to know that he has retired, but still he is worried about his company. That’s why he is still involved in the task of creating new generation leaders like himself. Planning has been done for the next ten years, but what will happen after twenty years? This question is eating them up. He is more worried about this than his health.

Brother, what will happen? A person comes into this world and goes away one day. Whoever it may be. The world keeps on moving, keeps on changing. Dwarka is destroyed, drowned in the sea, so what is a company? Just as the body becomes weak and passes away in the end, similarly the time of any institution also ends one day.

If everyone has to go one day, then why don’t we plan for it? The most important thing is to make a will, the absence of which causes a lot of trouble. But we shy away because ‘that day is far away’.

In Indian culture there is Trimurti – Brahma-Vishnu-Mahesh. Brahma creates the universe, Vishnu runs it and Shivji destroys it. This is the cycle of life and also of the ages. But man is not ready to accept this truth. The day the breath stops, the illusion breaks on its own.

Will someone miss you after you’re gone? Yes, if you have treated them well. My cousin Ashok passed away in the second wave of Covid. His smiling face appears many times on the screen of the mind. I wish I could have spent some more time with him. He was not a big man, but he had a big heart, and a clear one too.

By the way, if everyone has to go one day, then why don’t we plan for it? Such as nomination of your family members in bank papers, details of insurance and savings, internet banking passwords, etc. It should be kept in writing somewhere. Otherwise, sons and daughters will run here and there ten times after you.

The most important thing is to make a will, the absence of which causes a lot of complication, and also tribulation. Now this work is also done online, but we shy away probably because ‘that day is far away’.

Why think about that? When the next moment will happen or not, we do not even know this.

Every breath is priceless, so why not say something sweet? If the vegetable is cooked well today, then praise the daughter-in-law. Take the child in your lap and turn your hand on its head. Instead of scolding the junior in the office, explain with love. Sing your heart out, sing your throat out, while taking a bath. Enjoy the winter sunshine. Find out the number of an old friend and WhatsApp him.

As for the industrialist, perhaps he wants to enter the pages of history. But we do not know the form of the world after two hundred years. Will we be half man and half machine? Or would you be playing your bean on Mars? Those who believe in reincarnation look forward to coming back to earth.

Don’t know if this happens or not. That’s why this birth has to be lived right. Ego makes you hollow from inside. The one who behaves politely is the leader.
