Mumbai. Israeli filmmaker-screenwriter Nadav Lapid, jury head of the 53rd International Film Festival of India (IFFI), called the film ‘The Kashmir Files’ as ‘obscene’ and ‘inappropriate’ during the closing ceremony of the festival. He said that the spirit of the festival must be accepted. There should also be critical discussion, which is necessary for art and life. Earlier on Monday, Lapid had said that IFFI is worried about this film.

Nadav Lapid had said, “We were all perplexed and shocked by the 15th film ‘The Kashmir Files’. It struck us as a propaganda, obscene film, inappropriate for the artistic competition section of such a prestigious film festival.” Nadav made this remark in the presence of top ministers including Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur.
