Shraddha murder case : Aftab Poonawala has moved a bail application in Delhi Saket Court seeking bail plea will be heard tomorrow – News X

Shraddha Murder Case: Aftab Poonawala, accused in Delhi’s sensational Shraddha murder case, has filed a bail application in Delhi’s Saket Court for bail. He is in judicial custody since police interrogation. The court will hear his bail plea on Saturday. Delhi Police arrested 28-year-old Aftab Poonawalla on November 12.

According to the police, it is alleged that Aftab Poonawalla allegedly strangulated his live-in partner, 27-year-old Shraddha Walker, to death on May 18 and then cut her body into 35 pieces and stored it at his flat in south Delhi’s Mehrauli for about three weeks. Till then kept them in a 300 liter fridge and then kept throwing them at different parts of Delhi after midnight.

At the same time, Vikas Walker, the father of deceased Shraddha Walker, said in Mumbai today that yes, I have been told that his DNA samples and the DNA of recovered bones have matched. Let’s see what happens next. He said that I wanted some information about the complaint filed by my daughter in 2020. Hence, I have filed a petition for the same. This might be useful for a future case.

DNA of bones found in Mehrauli forest found with Shraddha’s father

In the Shraddha murder case, the DNA of the bones recovered by the police from Mehrauli forest has been matched with the DNA samples of the deceased’s father. Delhi Police had recovered 13 bones while searching for pieces of Shraddha’s body in Mehrauli forest on Thursday, police sources said. Shraddha’s live-in partner Aftab had allegedly killed her and cut her body into 35 pieces.

Special Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sagarpreet Hooda said that in the Shraddha murder case, Delhi Police has received the DNA report from CFSL (Central Forensic Science Laboratory), Lodhi Road. DNA report is helpful. He said that we have also received the report of Aftab’s polygraph test from FSL, Rohini and that report has also helped in the investigation.

Police had earlier said that during investigation, Aftab Poonawalla confessed to killing 27-year-old Shraddha and cutting her body into 35 pieces. Based on her confession, the police searched several areas of the forests and even found Shraddha’s body parts in a pond in Madangir. Police have found more than 13 pieces of bodies from Mehrauli and Gurugram.

The source said that the police have received the DNA report of the recovered bones. The DNA of the bones matched with the DNA of Shraddha’s father. Sources said that the blood sample recovered from Aftab’s house also matched with the DNA samples. The Forensic Science Laboratory on Wednesday submitted the report of Poonawalla’s polygraph test to the police.

Shraddha murder case: LG approves appointment of two special public prosecutors

New Delhi. Lieutenant Governor V.K. Saxena has approved the proposal of the Delhi Police regarding the appointment of two special public prosecutors in the Shraddha murder case. An official said that Lieutenant Governor Saxena has directed Delhi to appoint special public prosecutors to represent the state in the trial court in the case FIR No. 659 dated November 10, 2022 registered at Mehrauli police station under section 365/302/201 of IPC. The proposal of the police has been approved. Advocates Madhukar Pandey and Amit Prasad will represent the Delhi Police as Special Public Prosecutors in the case.
