Jammu-Kashmir: The Jammu and Kashmir administration has clamped down on Jamaat-e-Islami. Some properties of the organization have been sealed in Anantnag. Investigation is going on in the matter. The State Investigation Agency (SIA) is probing properties linked to Jamaat-e-Islami.
Some properties of banned organization Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) were sealed on Saturday. The property in Jabalipura was sealed on the orders of the Anantnag District Magistrate and on the recommendation of the State Investigation Agency (SIA). According to official information, the SIA had registered a case against Jamaat-e-Islami under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA).
Regarding this action on JEI, officials said that this action has been taken to eliminate funding for separatist activities in Jammu and Kashmir, anti-national elements and terrorist networks against India’s sovereignty. Let us inform that till now many properties of JEI have been sealed.
