Let us tell you that on November 27, the 115th birth anniversary of Harivansh Rai Bachchan was celebrated. On such an occasion, there was a lot of shadow related to Amitabh when Big B had asked his father that why did you give birth to us? Amitabh had shared this question asked to his father by his fans on his blog in the year 2008 itself. Amitabh had told that he had asked this question to his father when he was under a lot of pressure and despair about his future.
Raised his voice on them and shouted – Why did you give birth to me?
He had said – the anger of not understanding what to do with oneself. This anger was troubling him and once he entered his father’s room and questioned him. Recalling that time, Amitabh had said, ‘Angry, frustrated, strong and full of inappropriate thoughts, I went to my father’s study room one evening and for the first time in my life, with choked feelings, turned my attention to him. Raised voice and shouted – why did you give birth to me? Why did you create us?’
Amitabh said- My father, as always, was immersed in his writing
Amazing poet and writer Harivansh Rai Bachchan listened to him seriously and then also answered these questions of his son. Amitabh recalled his father’s reply: My father, as always engrossed in his writing, looked at me with astonishment and then regained his composure and remained so till the end. Amitabh said it was an uncomfortable night for him.
Father said through poetry – My sons ask me why did you give birth to us?
Amitabh had told that his father had also answered these questions of his through his poetry. Recalling those moments, Big B had said that the next morning the father woke him up and handed over a paper, on which it was written – New leak. Describing the poem written by his father, he had written, ‘My sons ask me- Why did you give birth to us? And I don’t have the answer that even my father didn’t ask me before giving birth to me. Nor did my father ask his father before bringing him up, nor did my grandfather ask his father before bringing him up. At the end of this poem, Amitabh’s father shows him a new direction and how he can change the way of the world.
Amitabh wrote – As long as there is life, there is struggle
Amitabh wrote, ‘Why don’t you make a new beginning, a new thinking, ask your sons before giving birth.’ After this, Amitabh wrote about the poem in the end, ‘There is no excuse and no blame in life, every morning is a new challenge. Either you learn to take up the challenge and learn to fight or you learn to surrender to it. As long as there is life, there is struggle!’
